Ballerinas

Ballet...is originally from Italy during the days of Renaissance in the 1400's. Later, the French developed what we know as Classical Ballet and as more nations developed their own styles, it grew into the enriched form we know today. Ballet may tell a story or reflect the moods of the music, but Ballerinas are not just dancers. To receive enough practice to become a true professional by adulthood, they must start as a child and develop the dexterity and muscle strength through out their youth. A dancers career is short and most retire by the age of 45. In the early days of Ballet costumes were long and heavy as the dancers were less skilled than they are now. As techniques began to refine, so did the costumes and they became shorter so as to show all the lines of the dancers body and not interfere with their movements.
