In the old west, saloons were the town meeting place. Women were in short supply so wayward cowboys and lonely ranchers depended on the Saloon Girls for female company. These strumpets were entertaining and flirted with all the men, occasionally giving their favorites extra attention.

They began dancing the Can-Can in Paris at the Moulin Rouge Night Club in the 1800's. The elaborately dressed Showgirls soon became a phenomenon. In the 1950's they debuted in Las Vegas, where they carried on the tradition of being the outrageous glitter queens of show business. Rhinestones, sequins, feathers and scanty costumes adorn their finely tuned bodies and awe spectators.
