PONDDWELLERS......A legend describes the adventure of a group of mermaids
out on a shell hunt who swam up a river that met the sea. Coming
to the surface they saw a group of fairy men who also saw them.
It was love at first sight for everyone. The mermaids decided to stay
and soon adapted to their new life in the river pond. Among the
water hyacinths, while the morning was still misty and fresh with
dew, they'd climb out to the pond's edge, receiving energy from the
early morning glow. Bringing out with them tender hyacinth roots
for nourishment, they would nibble quickly, as their glistening skin
could not become too dry. They would soon return to their life beneath
the ponds surface. During the day in their watery world they would
help the pond life around them, taking care of tadpoles and dragonfly
babies. Soon they had their own young which had graceful fins
like their mothers and beautiful wings as their fathers. They
became known as the ponddwellers.
