You may not see any other human beings as you hike in this secluded area; except the Mouflon Sheep which frequent the wooded sections nearby. This is also a prime growing area for the Ohelo Berry plant which is food for the endangered Hawaiian Nene Goose. At the higher elevations of the park grows the rarest of rare; the Hawaiian silversword plant.
